Keith Washington is an American R&B singer born in Detroit in 1960. His smooth quiet-storm ballads brought him recognition in the early 1990s, led by “Kissing You” and the debut album Make Time for Love; his catalogue also includes “Are You Still in Love with Me” and the Chante Moore duet “Candlelight and You.” In the early 1990s, he performed material from Make Time for Love on Soul Train. His subsequent concert repertoire has remained centered on romantic slow jams, and “Kissing You” is a central part of his live appearances.

Howard Hewett is an American R&B and soul singer, born in Akron, Ohio, in 1955. He became known as the lead vocalist of Shalamar, singing on “The Second Time Around,” “A Night to Remember” and “This Is for the Lover in You.” His solo career began with the album I Commit to Love, which included “I’m for Real” and “Stay.” Shalamar’s 1982 Friends tour brought Howard Hewett to Wembley Arena as part of the group’s best-known lineup. After leaving the group, he performed as a solo artist in theatres, concert halls and package shows, drawing his sets from I Commit to Love and the Shalamar catalogue.
