Artist
Kenji Sawada is a Japanese singer and actor, born in Tottori in 1948 and raised in Kyoto. Known by the nickname Julie, he first became famous as the lead singer of The Tigers, then joined Pyg before starting his solo career in 1971. His best-known songs include “Katte ni Shiyagare,” “Toki no Sugiyuku Mama ni” and “Tokio.” In 2008, Kenji Sawada marked his 60th birthday with the Julie Matsuri concerts at Kyocera Dome Osaka and Tokyo Dome. A decade later, he undertook the 70 YEARS LIVE OLD GUYS ROCK tour, followed in 2023 by a 75th-birthday concert at Saitama Super Arena.
