Akina Nakamori in Tokyo

Akina Nakamori is a Japanese singer and actress, born in Tokyo in 1965, whose work spans kayōkyoku, J-pop and dramatic ballads. She debuted in 1982 with “Slow Motion” and became known for songs including “Shōjo A,” “Second Love,” “Kita Wing,” “Kazari ja Nai no yo Namida wa” and “DESIRE -Jōnetsu-.” In 1989, she marked her eighth anniversary with AKINA INDEX-XXIII The 8th Anniversary at Yomiuriland EAST, presenting her singles in chronological order. She later mounted the I hope so tour in 2003 and the Last Destination tour in 2006, both documented in concert releases.
