Kenny Barron in Cartagena

Kenny Barron is an American jazz pianist and composer, born in Philadelphia in 1943. His music is rooted in bebop and post-bop, and his catalog includes the albums Wanton Spirit and Book of Intuition. He has also worked extensively with Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Getz. In 1991, Kenny Barron accompanied Stan Getz for a series of concerts at Café Montmartre in Copenhagen, later released as People Time. Five years later, he and Charlie Haden recorded Night and the City during performances at the Iridium in New York. His later appearances as a leader have included trio engagements at the Village Vanguard.
