Artists
King Woman is an American doom-metal project led by vocalist and songwriter Kris Esfandiari and formed in the San Francisco Bay Area. Heavy guitars, shoegaze textures and Esfandiari’s low, forceful vocals shape the albums Created in the Image of Suffering and Celestial Blues, including songs such as “Morning Star” and “Coil.” At Roadburn Festival in 2022, King Woman performed Celestial Blues in full. The performance was later documented on Live at Roadburn 2022, preserving the Tilburg set.
Youth Code is an American industrial duo formed in Los Angeles in 2012 by Sara Taylor and Ryan George. They play forceful EBM and electro-industrial music built around Taylor’s vocals and George’s synthesizers and programming. Their principal releases include the self-titled album Youth Code, Commitment to Complications and the King Yosef collaboration A Skeleton Key in the Doors of Depression. In 2014, Youth Code supported Skinny Puppy on a North American tour. They later joined AFI’s The Blood Tour and performed at the Cold Waves festival in Chicago.
