Ministry in Chicago

Ministry is an American industrial metal band formed in Chicago in 1981 by Al Jourgensen. After the synth-pop sound of the debut album With Sympathy, the group turned toward abrasive guitars, electronics and mechanical rhythms on The Land of Rape and Honey, The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste and Psalm 69. Its best-known songs include “Stigmata,” “Thieves,” “N.W.O.” and “Just One Fix.” Ministry performed on the main stage of the traveling Lollapalooza festival in 1992. The 1996 Sphinctour was documented in a live album and concert film, while the 2008 C U LaTour was announced as a farewell run. The band later returned to the road and launched the Defibrillatour in 2012.

Windhand is an American doom-metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia, in 2008. The group plays heavy, psychedelic doom built around Dorthia Cottrell’s vocals and slow guitar riffs; its best-known records include Soma, Grief’s Infernal Flower and Eternal Return, as well as songs such as “Orchard” and “Woodbine.” Windhand performed at Roadburn Festival in 2014, and the set was later released as Live at Roadburn 2014. The band appeared at Psycho Las Vegas in 2016, then toured North America following the release of Eternal Return in 2018, accompanied by Satan’s Satyrs.
