About LA LOM
LA LOM is an American instrumental trio formed in Los Angeles in 2019; its name stands for the Los Angeles League of Musicians. Guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner and percussionist Nicholas Baker play cumbia, bolero, chicha, soul and surf guitar, heard on tracks including “Danza de LA LOM” and “Figueroa” and on the album The Los Angeles League of Musicians.
The trio began performing through a weekly residency in the lobby of the Hollywood Roosevelt, where it developed its repertoire in extended sets. In 2024, LA LOM presented that three-piece format at NPR’s Tiny Desk.
