Lady Maisery in London

Lady Maisery is an English folk trio formed in 2011 by Hazel Askew, Hannah James and Rowan Rheingans. They perform traditional songs and contemporary folk material in three-part harmony, and are particularly associated with diddling, the practice of singing dance tunes without words. Their albums include Weave & Spin, Cycle and Tender. The tour supporting Cycle took Lady Maisery through British folk clubs, arts centres and festivals, while later concerts for Tender retained the trio’s combination of voices, fiddle, banjo, accordion and harp. Their seasonal concert project Awake Arise brought them together for winter-song tours with folk duo Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith.
