About Leningrad

Leningrad is a Russian band formed in Saint Petersburg in 1997. Led by singer and songwriter Sergey Shnurov, it plays brass-driven ska-punk and rock with elements of chanson. The band is known for satirical, profanity-heavy lyrics and songs including “WWW,” “Exponat” and “V Pitere — pit.”

The band performed at Coachella in 2007, then disbanded in 2008 and reunited in 2010. Its 2019 farewell stadium tour concluded with a concert at Gazprom Arena.

The concert lineup is a full band led by Sergey Shnurov, and brass instruments are central to the arrangements. Female lead singers in different eras included Alisa Vox and Florida Chanturia.
