Lita Ford & Head East in Carterville

Lita Ford is an American hard-rock singer and guitarist, born in London in 1958. She first became known as lead guitarist for the Runaways before establishing a solo career led by the 1988 album Lita, which includes “Kiss Me Deadly” and the Ozzy Osbourne duet “Close My Eyes Forever.” The Runaways toured Japan in 1977, and recordings from the visit became Live in Japan. Decades later, she returned to the live-album format for The Bitch Is Back... Live, recorded at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills.

Head East is an American rock band formed in east-central Illinois in 1969. Its hard rock sound is built around guitars, keyboards and vocal harmonies, and the band is best known for “Never Been Any Reason” and the album Flat as a Pancake. Other staples include “Love Me Tonight” and its recording of “Since You Been Gone.” The 1979 double album Head East Live! documented the group after several years of touring behind its A&M releases. Following the end of its original run in the early 1980s, keyboardist Roger Boyd assembled later lineups and took the band back on the road. Head East has since played theatres, casinos, fairs and classic-rock festivals, including Rocklahoma.
