Local Natives are an American indie-rock band formed in Orange County in 2005 and based in Los Angeles. Their music centers on interlocking guitars, layered vocal harmonies and percussion, heard on the debut album Gorilla Manor and songs including “Airplanes,” “Wide Eyes” and “When Am I Gonna Lose You.” Later albums include Hummingbird, Sunlit Youth and Violet Street. The band performed at SXSW in 2009, then toured internationally behind its subsequent records. The Spiral Choir Tour followed Violet Street in 2019, and Local Natives co-headlined the Summer Odyssey Tour with Foals in 2023. Local Natives perform as a full band, arranging songs around shared lead vocals, multi-part harmonies and several members contributing percussion. Their festival appearances have included Coachella in California and Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
