About Lords Of The Underground
Lords Of The Underground is an American hip-hop trio formed in Newark, New Jersey, by rappers DoItAll and Mr. Funke with DJ Lord Jazz. Their East Coast rap is closely associated with the 1993 debut album Here Come the Lords, whose best-known tracks include “Chief Rocka” and “Funky Child.” Marley Marl produced much of the album.
During the 1990s, Lords Of The Underground toured the material from Here Come the Lords as a two-MC-and-DJ act. In 2023, all three members performed “Chief Rocka,” “Funky Child” and “Psycho” for the group’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
