Los Amigos Invisibles in Mexico City

Los Amigos Invisibles are a Venezuelan band formed in Caracas in 1991, playing dance music rooted in disco, funk, acid jazz and Latin rhythms. They became known through albums including The New Sound of the Venezuelan Gozadera, Arepa 3000 and Commercial, as well as songs such as “Mentiras” and “Ponerte en Cuatro.” Commercial won the Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Los Amigos Invisibles performed at Coachella in 2004 and later appeared at Glastonbury, taking their full-band show onto major festival stages. In 2019, they recorded an NPR Tiny Desk Concert in Washington, D.C., using vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion and drums.
