Lotus in Morgantown

Lotus is an American band formed at Goshen College in Indiana in 1999. Its largely instrumental music draws on electronic dance music, funk and improvisational rock, heard on albums including Nomad, Hammerstrike and Build. Escaping Sargasso Sea documented a 2006 concert at Mr. Small’s Theatre in Pittsburgh, capturing the extended improvisation central to the band’s performances. Lotus later established Summerdance at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Ohio as a recurring live event and also performed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
