Artist
Lúnasa is an Irish instrumental folk band formed in 1997. Its arrangements draw on traditional dance tunes, led by flute, whistles, uilleann pipes and fiddle over guitar and double bass; key recordings include Otherworld, The Merry Sisters of Fate and Redwood. The band’s first tour crossed Ireland in 1997, followed by performances at Glastonbury Festival, WOMADelaide and the Hollywood Bowl. Lúnasa has also performed in concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, a partnership documented on the 2013 album Lúnasa with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
