Luz Casal is a Spanish singer-songwriter, born in 1958 in Boimorto, Galicia, whose music encompasses pop rock, ballads and blues. Her signature recordings include “No me importa nada,” “Piensa en mí” and “Un año de amor”; the latter two reached a wider audience through Pedro Almodóvar’s film High Heels.

In 1988, Luz Casal performed at Barcelona’s Camp Nou on the Spanish date of Amnesty International’s Human Rights Now! tour. Her concert work later developed a strong connection with France, and a performance at the Olympia in Paris was included in the 2011 retrospective Un ramo de rosas.
