About Marta Sánchez
Marta Sánchez is a Spanish pop singer, born in Madrid in 1966, who was the lead vocalist of Olé Olé before beginning a solo career. Her debut solo album, Mujer, included “Desesperada”; her other widely known recordings include “Soy yo” and the Carlos Baute duet “Colgando en tus manos.”
In 1990, Marta Sánchez travelled to the Persian Gulf with Olé Olé to perform for Spanish troops stationed there. After going solo, she appeared at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in 1994. At a 2018 concert at Teatro de la Zarzuela, she performed Spain’s national anthem using lyrics she had written herself.
