Macha Y El Bloque Depresivo in Guadalajara

Macha Y El Bloque Depresivo is a Chilean ensemble led by singer Aldo “Macha” Asenjo, the frontman of Chico Trujillo and La Floripondio. The group performs boleros, Peruvian waltzes and Chilean música cebolla, drawing on the Latin American romantic-song tradition. Its self-titled album includes recordings such as “La nave del olvido,” “Procuro olvidarte” and “Continentales.” Macha Y El Bloque Depresivo developed this repertoire through bar concerts in Valparaíso before presenting it at larger venues, including Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago. They later recorded a Tiny Desk (Home) Concert for NPR Music. In Mexico City, the ensemble has performed at Auditorio Nacional.
