About Maddie Poppe

Maddie Poppe is an American singer-songwriter, born in 1997 and raised in Clarksville, Iowa, who plays folk-rooted pop and indie pop. She won the 16th season of American Idol in 2018 and followed it with the album Whirlwind, which includes “Made You Miss” and “Not Losing You”; “Going Going Gone” was her coronation single on the show.

The 2018 American Idol Live! tour took her around the United States with other finalists from that season. She later opened concerts on Ingrid Michaelson’s 2019 Dramatic Tour, bringing the songs from Whirlwind to theatre audiences.
