About Magazine
Magazine are a British post-punk band formed in Manchester in 1977 by singer Howard Devoto after he left Buzzcocks. Their debut album, Real Life, established a tense, keyboard-rich sound, and “Shot by Both Sides” became their signature song. Secondhand Daylight and The Correct Use of Soap followed before the band split in 1981.
Magazine reunited for British concerts in 2009, bringing Devoto back together with Barry Adamson, Dave Formula and John Doyle, joined by guitarist Noko. The run took them to large clubs and concert halls including Manchester Academy and the Forum in London. After releasing No Thyself in 2011, they toured again and played the Assembly in Leamington Spa.
