About Mako Road

Mako Road is a New Zealand indie-rock band formed in Christchurch in 2017. Its guitar-led sound draws on surf rock and reggae rhythms, and the group is known for songs including “The Sun Comes Up,” “Local Safari” and “Ride,” as well as the album Stranger Days.

Mako Road toured New Zealand and Australia, playing headline shows in Auckland and Sydney. Those runs also brought the band to the Rhythm and Vines festival.
