Marcia Hines is an American-born Australian pop, soul and disco singer, born in Boston in 1953 and based in Australia since her teens. Her best-known recordings include the albums Shining and Ladies and Gentlemen, as well as the songs “You,” “Music Is My Life” and “I Just Don’t Know What to Do with Myself.”

In 1970, she began her Australian stage career in the Sydney production of Hair. She later played Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, then returned to musical theatre and cabaret across her career. Decades later, she starred in the disco cabaret Velvet, which played Adelaide Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe.
