Maria Taylor is an American singer-songwriter born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1976. She is known both for her solo work and as one half of the indie-folk duo Azure Ray with Orenda Fink. Her releases include the solo debut 11:11, Lynn Teeter Flower and LadyLuck, while “Song Beneath the Song” became one of her best-known recordings. After years of performing with Azure Ray, Maria Taylor toured behind 11:11 under her own name in clubs and theatres. Her live work also includes touring as a drummer and vocalist with Bright Eyes.
