Marla Glen in Rubigen

Marla Glen is an American singer-songwriter from Chicago whose music draws on blues, soul, jazz and rhythm and blues. A deep contralto is central to the sound of the debut album This Is Marla, released in 1993, and songs including “Believer” and “The Cost of Freedom.” The album Love & Respect followed. Marla Glen performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1995 as part of a European concert career built around full-band performances. A separate set was recorded for the German television concert series Ohne Filter and later released as a concert video under the Ohne Filter name.
