About Matt Deighton
Matt Deighton is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist whose work moves between folk, rock and acid jazz. He fronted Mother Earth, appearing on records including The People Tree, and later established a solo catalogue led by the album Villager.
During the 1990s, Matt Deighton performed with Mother Earth and later toured as a guitarist in Paul Weller’s band. He joined Oasis for a run of European concerts in 2000, taking over Noel Gallagher’s guitar and vocal parts after Gallagher withdrew from the tour.
