Artist
Medina Azahara is a Spanish rock band formed in Córdoba in 1979. Their music places hard rock and progressive rock alongside Andalusian and flamenco elements, heard in songs including “Paseando por la mezquita” and “Necesito respirar,” the albums En Al-Hakim and Sin tiempo, and their version of “Todo tiene su fin.” The 1990 concert album En directo documented the band’s early live repertoire. Six years later, A toda esa gente returned to the concert format after Sin tiempo, Dónde está la luz and Árabe had added further material to their sets. Medina Azahara performs as a full electric band built around guitars, keyboards and the lead vocal of longtime frontman Manuel Martínez.
