Melanie C is an English pop and rock singer-songwriter, born in 1974 and first known as Sporty Spice in the Spice Girls. Her solo career began with the album Northern Star, which produced the singles “Never Be the Same Again” and “I Turn to You.” The Spiceworld Tour took her to arenas around the world in 1998 and concluded with concerts at Wembley Stadium. She followed her first solo album with the Northern Star Tour, then returned to arena stages for The Return of the Spice Girls in 2007 and 2008. In 2019, she rejoined the group for stadium concerts across the UK and Ireland on the Spice World 2019 Tour.
Sophie and the Giants are a British indie-pop band formed in Sheffield in 2015 and led by singer-songwriter Sophie Scott. Their early guitar-led work includes the EP Adolescence, while the songs “Hypnotized” and “In the Dark,” recorded with Purple Disco Machine, brought electronic pop into their catalogue; “Right Now” is another of their best-known singles. Sophie and the Giants have played Glastonbury Festival as well as Reading Festival and Leeds Festival. The group presents its guitar-led songs and electronic collaborations in a full-band set fronted by Sophie Scott.
