Melissa Ferrick is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Massachusetts in 1970, whose music spans acoustic folk rock and direct, personal songwriting. Her catalog includes the debut album Massive Blur, Everything I Need and the song “Drive.” In 1991, Melissa Ferrick stepped in as an opening act for Morrissey after his scheduled support canceled, and the appearance led to a deal with Atlantic Records. She later built a touring career in American clubs and theatres, often performing solo with acoustic guitar, and documented her stage work on the live albums Melissa Ferrick +1 and 70 People at 7,000 Feet.
