About Mezzoforte
Mezzoforte are an Icelandic instrumental jazz-funk band formed in Reykjavík in 1977. They are best known for “Garden Party,” the central track on the album Surprise Surprise, while records including Observations and Rising developed their mix of funk rhythms, keyboards, guitar and saxophone.
The success of “Garden Party” led to extensive European touring during the 1980s. The concert release Live in Reykjavik later documented the band on a home-city stage, and their club work has included performances at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.
