About Mike and the Moonpies
Mike and the Moonpies was an American country band formed in Austin in 2007 by singer and songwriter Mike Harmeier. Its records include Steak Night at the Prairie Rose, One to Grow On and Cheap Silver and Solid Country Gold, which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios with arrangements performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The group adopted the name Silverada in 2024.
An early residency at the Hole in the Wall helped the band develop its honky-tonk repertoire through long, full-band sets. It later made its Grand Ole Opry debut and toured beyond the Texas dance-hall circuit. The concert album Live at Devil’s Backbone documented two nights at Devil’s Backbone Tavern.
