Michalis Hatzigiannis in Thessaloniki

Michalis Hatzigiannis is a Cypriot singer-songwriter and composer, born in Nicosia in 1978, whose music draws on Greek pop, rock and entechno. His best-known recordings include the albums Kryfo Fili and 7, as well as the songs “Den Fevgo,” “Horevo” and “To Kalokairi Mou.” The Eurovision Song Contest 1998 brought him to an international television audience in Birmingham, where he represented Cyprus with his composition “Genesis.” He later performed at the closing ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and has headlined theatre and open-air concerts throughout Greece and Cyprus.
