About Milton Nascimento
Milton Nascimento is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and guitarist, born in 1942 and raised in Três Pontas, Minas Gerais. A central voice in MPB and the Clube da Esquina circle, he is known for songs including “Travessia,” “Cais,” “Ponta de Areia” and “Maria, Maria,” as well as the album Clube da Esquina, made with Lô Borges, and his work with Wayne Shorter on Native Dancer.
The Tambores de Minas concert was recorded at Teatro João Caetano in Rio de Janeiro and released as a live album. In 2022, he took A Última Sessão de Música through Brazil, Europe and the United States as his farewell tour, ending the run at Mineirão in Belo Horizonte.
His festival appearances included Rock in Rio and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
