About Moonsorrow
Moonsorrow are a Finnish metal band formed in Helsinki in 1995 by cousins Henri and Ville Sorvali. They play pagan and folk metal shaped by black metal, Finnish-language lyrics and long-form compositions, and are known for albums including Kivenkantaja, Verisäkeet and V: Hävitetty.
The 2008 Paganfest tour took Moonsorrow through Europe alongside Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Eluveitie and Týr. Beyond that tour, the band performed at major metal festivals including Wacken Open Air in Germany and Hellfest in Clisson.
