Morgan James is an American singer, songwriter and stage actor who performs soul, jazz and pop. Born in Boise, Idaho, in 1981 and trained at Juilliard, she became known through Broadway roles and recordings including the albums Hunter, Reckless Abandon and Memphis Magnetic. Her Broadway work began with The Addams Family and continued with Wonderland and Godspell. In 2012, she recorded the concert album Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in New York. She subsequently appeared in Motown: The Musical and performed in concert with Postmodern Jukebox.
