About Musical Youth
Musical Youth are a British reggae-pop group formed in Birmingham in 1979. They are best known for “Pass the Dutchie,” which appeared on their debut album, The Youth of Today, alongside the title song. The group also recorded “Unconditional Love” with Donna Summer.
Musical Youth performed at Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica in 1983 during the concert run that followed their debut album. After the group disbanded in the mid-1980s, Dennis Seaton and Michael Grant revived it in 2001 and returned to live work. The reunited group later appeared at British revival events including Rewind Festival and the Let’s Rock concert series.
