Artist
My Darling Clementine are an English country and Americana duo formed in Birmingham by married singer-songwriters Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish. Their close-voiced duets and songs about strained relationships draw on the tradition of country partnerships such as George Jones and Tammy Wynette. Their catalogue includes the albums How Do You Plead?, The Reconciliation! and Still Testifying, while Country Darkness reworked songs written by Elvis Costello. The Other Half took the duo into theatres in a song-and-story collaboration with crime novelist Mark Billingham; the production appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before touring the UK. They later brought Country Darkness to the stage, performing the Elvis Costello material on selected dates with keyboard player Steve Nieve, who also played on the recordings.
