Naples Philharmonic Orchestra & Yeol Eum Son in East Naples

Yeol Eum Son is a South Korean classical pianist, born in Wonju in 1986. She won the silver medal at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and second prize at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition. Her recordings include Modern Times and an album devoted to the music of Nikolai Kapustin. In 2004, she made her debut with the New York Philharmonic under Lorin Maazel. Her subsequent concert work has combined orchestral appearances with solo recitals, including a 2018 BBC Proms debut with the BBC Philharmonic and conductor Omer Meir Wellber at Royal Albert Hall.
