Artist
Niladri Kumar is an Indian sitarist and composer, born in 1973. The son and student of sitar player Kartick Kumar, who studied under Ravi Shankar, he is known for developing the five-string electric zitar and for recordings including Priority and If. He gave his first public performance at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry while still a child. He later toured with tabla player Zakir Hussain in the Masters of Percussion ensemble.
