Miguel Poveda is a Spanish flamenco singer, born in Badalona in 1973. Known as a cantaor with a command of traditional flamenco forms, he has also interpreted copla and poetry; his major recordings include Coplas del querer, arteSano and Sonetos y poemas para la libertad. At the 1993 Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas in La Unión, he received the Lámpara Minera, an early landmark in his performance career. He later recorded the live album Real at Madrid’s Teatro Real. His subsequent theatre tours included programmes built around El tiempo vuela and Diverso.
