Oliver Wood in Decatur

Oliver Wood is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Nashville, best known as a co-founder and lead singer of the roots trio The Wood Brothers with his brother Chris Wood. His music draws on folk, blues, gospel and Southern soul; “Luckiest Man” and “Postcards from Hell” became staples of the group’s catalog. He began releasing music under his own name with Always Smilin’, followed by Fat Cat Silhouette. Oliver Wood has fronted The Wood Brothers at the Ryman Auditorium and Red Rocks Amphitheatre during the trio’s long-running theatre and festival tours. After Always Smilin’, he also took his solo material on the road with the Oliver Wood Trio, featuring drummer and keyboardist Jano Rix and bassist Ted Pecchio.
