About Pacific Mambo Orchestra
Pacific Mambo Orchestra is an American Latin big band formed in San Francisco in 2010 by pianist Christian Tumalan and trumpeter Steffen Kuehn. The ensemble plays mambo, salsa and Latin jazz, and its self-titled debut won the Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album.
The orchestra made its live debut at Yoshi’s San Francisco in 2010. Its concerts present the group’s arrangements through a full big-band lineup and featured vocalists.
Festival appearances took the ensemble to the Monterey Jazz Festival and Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival; it also performed in the Bay Area at Stern Grove Festival.
