Pavlos Pavlidis in Thessaloniki

Pavlos Pavlidis is a Greek singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Bremen in 1964 and raised in Thessaloniki. He is best known as the former frontman of the alternative-rock band Xylina Spathia and for songs including “Adrenalini” and “Fotia Sto Limani.” His solo catalogue began with the album O Ypnos Sou Ntynei Fotia and includes “Lefki Kataigida.” Pavlidis toured with Xylina Spathia through the 1990s and into the early 2000s. After the group disbanded, he performed and recorded with B-Movies, establishing the full-band format for his solo work. He later formed Hotel Alaska, whose arrangements revisit material from both phases of his catalogue and are documented on To Mavro Kouti.
