Peter Maffay & Johannes Oerding in Hamburg

Peter Maffay is a German rock singer and songwriter, born in 1949 in Brașov, Romania. After beginning with pop and schlager, he became known through the 1970 song “Du” and moved toward German-language rock on albums including Steppenwolf and Revanche. He also built a long-running series of concept albums and stage productions around the character Tabaluga. Peter Maffay has repeatedly toured the Tabaluga works as staged family productions. In 2018, the MTV Unplugged tour carried the acoustic arrangements from his television recording into arenas; the We Love Rock ’n’ Roll tour followed in 2024 with a set drawn from across his rock catalogue. He has played successive arena tours in Frankfurt and Cologne, as well as major concert dates in Munich.

Johannes Oerding is a German singer-songwriter, born in Münster in 1981, who writes melodic pop songs in his native language. His catalogue includes the albums Kreise, Konturen and Plan A, as well as songs such as “Alles brennt,” “Kreise” and “An guten Tagen.” In 2009, he performed as a support act for Simply Red before developing his own headline tours. He later mounted the Konturen Tour and Plan A Tour in arenas, then presented his first stadium concert, Heimspiel, at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion in 2024. Most of his concerts take place in Germany, while his German-language repertoire has also brought him to venues in Austria and Switzerland.
