Pieces Of A Dream in Alexandria

Pieces Of A Dream is an American jazz group formed in Philadelphia in 1976 by keyboardist James Lloyd, drummer Curtis Harmon and bassist Cedric Napoleon. Its music draws on smooth jazz, jazz-funk, soul and R&B, and the group became known through its self-titled debut album and tracks including “Warm Weather” and “Mount Airy Groove.” Pieces Of A Dream began playing Philadelphia clubs while the founding musicians were still teenagers. Grover Washington Jr. heard the young trio and took them on tour as his opening act. The group has since performed as an instrumental ensemble centered on the keyboards of James Lloyd and the drums of Curtis Harmon.
