Pig Destroyer is an American grindcore band formed in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1997 by vocalist J. R. Hayes and guitarist Scott Hull. The band is known for compact, abrasive songs, Hayes’s dense lyrics and albums including Prowler in the Yard, Terrifyer, Phantom Limb and Head Cage. Pig Destroyer have performed repeatedly at Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore during a live career centered on selected appearances. In Europe, the band has also played Roadburn Festival in Tilburg and Damnation Festival in Leeds.
Wormrot is a grindcore band formed in Singapore in 2007. Their short, abrasive songs draw on hardcore punk and extreme metal, and their principal albums include Abuse, Dirge, Voices and Hiss. In 2011, Wormrot performed at Glastonbury Festival, becoming the first band from the country to do so. Further European touring brought the trio to Obscene Extreme, the long-running grindcore and extreme-punk festival in Trutnov.
