Pitingo in Badajoz

Pitingo is a Spanish singer born in Ayamonte, Huelva, who performs soul and gospel through flamenco singing, a style he calls “soulería.” His recordings include Pitingo con Habichuelas, Soulería, Olé & Amén and Malecón Street; his flamenco interpretation of “Killing Me Softly with His Song” is among his best-known songs. Pitingo presented Soulería at Teatro Calderón in Madrid and documented the production on a live release. He later took the format, centred on his lead voice, flamenco guitar, palmas, backing singers and band, to London’s Royal Albert Hall.
