About Pixies
Pixies are an American alternative rock band formed in Boston in 1986 by Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering. Their sharp shifts between restrained verses and loud guitar passages became a hallmark of albums including Surfer Rosa and Doolittle. Their best-known songs include “Where Is My Mind?,” “Debaser,” “Here Comes Your Man” and “Monkey Gone to Heaven.”
Their 2004 reunion began at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis and led to an appearance at Coachella that year. In 2009, Pixies launched the Doolittle Tour, performing the album in full alongside its related B-sides. They later returned to extensive arena and amphitheatre touring, including co-headlining North American dates with Weezer.
