Pretty Maids & Axxis in Friedrichshafen

Pretty Maids are a Danish heavy-metal and hard-rock band formed in Horsens in 1981 by singer Ronnie Atkins and guitarist Ken Hammer. They became known through albums including Red, Hot and Heavy, Future World and Sin-Decade, and songs such as “Back to Back,” “Future World” and “Please Don’t Leave Me.” In 1987, the band toured with Deep Purple and performed at Monsters of Rock in Germany. Decades later, they marked the anniversary of Future World by playing the album in full; a 2018 performance was documented on Maid in Japan – Future World Live 30 Anniversary, recorded in Tokyo.

Axxis are a German hard rock and melodic heavy metal band formed in Dortmund in 1988. Singer Bernhard Weiss and keyboardist Harry Oellers have been central to a catalogue led by the debut album Kingdom of the Night and songs including “Living in a World,” “Touch the Rainbow” and “Little Look Back.” The 1991 live album Access All Areas documented the band’s early concert repertoire. A 25th-anniversary performance at Zeche Bochum was later released as 25 Years of Rock & Power, while festival appearances have included Wacken Open Air and Masters of Rock.
