Profeti Della Quinta in Achern

Profeti Della Quinta is an Israeli male vocal ensemble founded in Galilee by singer, composer and harpsichordist Elam Rotem and based in Basel. It specializes in Renaissance and early Baroque music, particularly the Hebrew psalm settings and Italian madrigals of Mantuan Jewish composer Salomone Rossi. The group is closely associated with the documentary Hebreo: The Search for Salomone Rossi and the recording The Songs of Solomon and Instrumental Music. Profeti Della Quinta has performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and at Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, presenting Rossi-centered programs in museum concert series and specialist early-music festivals. The group performs as a male vocal quintet, adding period instruments such as theorbo and harpsichord when the repertory calls for them. Its programs also include works written for the ensemble by Elam Rotem.
