About Raça Negra
Raça Negra is a Brazilian pagode group formed in São Caetano do Sul in 1983 and led by singer Luiz Carlos. The group became known for romantic pagode songs including “Cheia de Manias,” “Cigana” and “É Tarde Demais.”
Raça Negra Ao Vivo, released in 1996, documented the group’s concert arrangements of its established repertoire. In 2014, Raça Negra joined Só Pra Contrariar for the touring production Gigantes do Samba, which was recorded live at Arena Anhembi in São Paulo.
